What is Tatkal Passport?

Tatkal passport services in Delhi are a fast track process for who need passport urgently. It speeds up the Passport processing; it will take around 1 – 3 days. This timeline depends of the police verification. 

Note: In some cases Police verification is done after issuance of Passport.

• First you need to Register on the 'Passport Seva' Portal using your email ID.
• After login, choose 'Fresh Passport'. And choose “Tatkal” mode. Fill the form accurately
• Schedule an appointment with PSK, select your PSK and pay through various payment methods. (Debit card, credit card, internet banking state bank of India and associates banks only or SBI challan.)
• Attend your appointment at the PSK with the printed application form and original documents (identity proof with photograph, proof of date of birth, proof of residence, and proof of nationality).

Tatkaal Scheme Eligibility:

Applicants who fall into the following categories are not eligible to apply for or reapply for a passport under the Tatkaal program.

• Citizens born to Indian parents outside India (Indian descent)
• Indian citizens who've been granted citizenship status on the basis of naturalization/registration
• Applicants who've been deported to India from other countries
• Applicants who've been repatriated from a different country at the government's cost
• Name change - major
• Residents of Jammu & Kashmir and Nagaland
• Naga-origin citizens residing outside Nagaland
• Children adopted by Indian and foreign parents
• Minor children with single-parent
• Minors residing in Nagaland
• Short passport validity renewal applicants
• Reapplication due to lost or stolen passport
• Application due to the passport being damaged beyond recognition
• Change in sex or appearance
• Change in personal credentials such as signature

 Processing Time for tatkal passport?

Tatkal Applications: Five working days from the date of receiving the application at the Consulate.

Normal Applications: Thirty (30) working days from the date of receiving the application at the Consulate.
